Dec. 5 (Tues) — ‘History in Motion’ visit
9 to 11:30 a.m. at Stewart Elementary, 1950 Rigsby Ave.
Texas and local history will come alive for 4th-graders through this colorful, fun and interactive traveling exhibit housed in a 40-foot RV.
Dec. 6 (Wed) — Mock arrest warrant to be issued for Santa Claus
1:30 p.m. at Bonham Academy, 925 S. St. Mary’s St.
Again this year, police will be dispatched to this King William neighborhood school to catch Santa in the act of distributing Christmas gifts to students. The gift giving is expected to start around 1 p.m., and the arrest to take place in the science lab. The perp, who also goes by the name Kriss Kringle, will be ordered to appear in federal court where his fate will be decided by a jury of Bonham 4th-graders.
Dec. 8-9 — ‘Beauty and the Beast’ production
7 p.m. at Jefferson High School, 723 Donaldson Ave.
Members of the school’s theatre group will present the Walt Disney Pictures musical version of this fairy tale of a prince magically turned into a monster as punishment for his arrogance and Belle, a young woman he imprisons in his castle. The spell on him is broken when the two fall in love. Pre-sale tickets are $5 and $8 at the door. A 2 p.m. alumni appreciation matinee performance also will be held on Dec.9.
Dec. 9 (Sat) — The 24th-annual mock trial of Santa Claus
9 a.m. at the John H. Wood Jr. United States Courthouse, 655 E. César E. Chávez Blvd.
Santa Claus (also known as Kriss Kringle) will be will be tried before U.S. District Court Judge Henry J. Bemporad following his Dec. 6 arrest on charges of violating the separation of church and state by handing out gifts. Jurists will be 4th-graders who attend school where the alleged infraction took place. Inspiration for this annual event providing students with real-world lessons in the judicial system is the beloved holiday classic movie “Miracle on 34th Street.” Santa’s trial is a community service project of the United States District Court Committee, the San Antonio Bar Association, Boy Scouts Troop 285 and Bonham Academy.
Dec, 4-7 — Free family fitness classes

The popular Zumba dance fitness program classes are free and offered in partnership with Health Collaborative, a local network of citizens, community organizations and businesses. Upcoming sessions will be:
