San Antonio ISD to hold first Districtwide school showcase
Experience SAISD to feature 90 schools plus magnet programs

December 6, 2017 – San Antonio ISD will host its first Districtwide school showcase – titled Experience SAISD – Saturday, Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UTSA Downtown Campus, located at 501 W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. This is the first time the District will highlight the full range of school options available to students at one event, from traditional neighborhood schools to specialized campuses open to students across Bexar County, helping families to find out more about all the offerings at the District to best meet their needs.

Experience SAISD, which replaces the annual Magnet and Specialized Schools Fair, will feature representatives from all 90 SAISD schools who are prepared to answer questions from parents and students. Parents will be able to learn about extracurricular activities, including athletics and fine arts, afterschool and extended day options, tuition-based Pre-K options, dual language, special education, and Choice Schools and Magnet Programs. Students performances will also be held throughout the event.

SAISD Superintendent Pedro Martinez, Board President Patti Radle and Councilman Roberto Treviño will address attendees at 11:00.

The event is open to families throughout San Antonio and Bexar County – and will include free children’s activities such as inflatables, games, face painting and books, as well as drawings for prizes, free health screenings by Medico MD, and complimentary bottled water and snacks.

Admission and parking are free. Complimentary shuttle service also will be provided from the following SAISD high schools: Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, Highlands, Jefferson, Lanier and Sam Houston high schools.
