Sights and sounds of SAISD during 2018 Fiesta
Last year's highlights
Our students will be participating in various parades, performances and competitions throughout Fiesta San Antonio, our city’s signature event that brings together people, culture and festivities. Hear them perform in this Fiesta edition of the SAISD podcast.

April 18 (Wednesday) – Noche del Mariachi
7:30 p.m. at San Antonio College McAllister Auditorium, 1300 San Pedro Ave.
The mariachi ensembles from Irving Middle School and Fox Tech High School/Advanced Learning Academy will be special guest performers during this concert.
April 20 (Friday) – Night in Ol’ Rodriguez
3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Rodriguez Elementary School, 3626 W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd.
Enjoy free food, entertainment and fun activities.
April 21 (Saturday) – Fiesta Zumbathon
9 a.m. to noon at Alamo Convocation Center, 110 Tuleta Drive
Enjoy free Zumba, kids’ activities, health screenings, free resources and prize giveaways.
April 21 (Saturday) – Car Show and Family Fiesta
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Miller Elementary School, 207 Lincolnshire Drive
Enjoy food, music, games and the chance to vote for your favorite car in the car show.
April 22 (Sunday) – Deco District Arts and Music Festival
Noon to 8 p.m. in the Deco District, 1800 Fredericksburg Rd.

April 23 (Monday) – Texas Cavaliers River Parade
7 p.m. to 9 p.m. along the San Antonio River Walk
The Fox Tech High School/Advanced Learning Academy mariachi ensemble will perform on one of the barges.
April 24 (Tuesday) – The Salvation Army Senior Fiesta
The Jefferson marching band will participate in this invitation-only parade.
April 24 (Tuesday) – NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio)
5:30 p.m., LaVillita, 418 Villita St.
The Brackenridge High School Band Drumline will participate in the opening ceremony of NIOSA.
April 24-26 (Tuesday-Thursday) – Ford Mariachi Festival
6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. along the San Antonio River Walk
Members of the Burbank High School, the Fox Tech High School/Advanced Learning Academy and the Jefferson High School mariachi ensembles will perform at various times.
- April 24 (Tuesday) – The Burbank High School and the Fox Tech High School/Advanced Learning Academy (Passion Pursuit) mariachi ensembles will perform between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., and the Fox Tech/ALA (Beginner) mariachi will perform between 7:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
- April 25 (Wednesday) – The Fox Tech/ALA (Intermediate) mariachi will perform between 7:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., and the Fox Tech/ALA (Junior Varsity) and the Jefferson High School mariachi ensembles will perform between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
- April 26 (Thursday) – The Fox Tech/ALA (Varsity) mariachi will perform between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
April 25 (Wednesday) – ALA Noche de Colores Family Art Night and Celebration
6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the first-floor mall area of the Fox Tech campus, Administration Building, 637 N. Main Ave.
Families may create art at various activity stations throughout the mall area.
April 26 (Thursday) – Battle of Flowers Association Band Festival
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Alamo Stadium, 110 Tuleta St.
The Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, Highlands and Jefferson high school bands will compete in the band festival.
April 27 (Friday) – Fiesta Jazz Band Festival
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Mary's University, One Camino Santa Maria
The Jefferson Jazz Band will compete.
April 27 (Friday) – Battle of the Flowers Parade
Beginning at 9:30 am. along parade route (E. Grayson and Broadway)
The SAISD District Mariachi Program, with participants from the various campus mariachi programs including Brackenridge, Burbank, Highlands, Jefferson and Lanier will perform in the parade. Participating high school bands include Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, Highlands, Jefferson and Sam Houston. In addition, the Brackenridge, Edison, Highlands and Lanier JROTC battalions will march in the parade, as will the Burbank cheer team.
April 28 (Saturday) – King William Fair Parade
Beginning at 9 a.m. along parade route throughout King William Historic District
Look for the Bonham Academy Drama Club’s float based on the theme “Here Comes the Sun.” In addition, Bonham students representing the art, theater, band and robotics clubs will march in the parade, as will the Brackenridge High School band.
April 28 (Saturday) – Fiesta Flambeau Parade
6:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. along parade route (E. Grayson and Broadway)
The Brackenridge, Burbank, Fox Tech, Edison, Highlands, Jefferson, Lanier and Sam Houston High School bands will march in the parade, as will the Burbank, Edison and Fox Tech cheer, dance and pep squads.
