The Operations Services Division consists of 7 functional areas that are aligned to efficiently and effectively deliver goods and services to support the academic needs of the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD).  Our goal is to deliver excellent customer service through responsiveness, continuous improvement, and accountability in service to the instructional core; supporting the District’s mission to transform SAISD into a national model urban school district where every child graduates and is educated so that he or she is prepared to be a contributing member of the community.

Child & Nutrition Servicesenhance the learning and health of children by nourishing their bodies and minds through healthy, nutritious meals. The department provides meals to 90 District sites, serving more than 91,000 student meals each day.

Construction & Development Services – provide quality sustainable facilities to enhance student achievement.  The primary areas of responsibility include: facility planning, design, and construction; real estate acquisition; master plan (long-range capital plan).

Facilities Services – maintain and repair existing building systems to include, but not limited to emergency maintenance, routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, grounds maintenance, custodial, environmental, and energy & sustainability.

Operations Business Services – provide support to all functional business units across the Operations Services Division with a focus on accountability, business diversity program, and talent management to include recruitment, training, and retention. Primary responsibilities include implementing strategies that promote the organization’s mission and voice, and creating complete business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives.

Procurement Services – has a team of specialists that provide procurement guidance and ensure competitive procurement of construction, supplies, services, and equipment needed to provide quality educational services to the students of SAISD.

Strategic Initiatives – create a framework for continuous improvement through proven strategies.

Transportation Services – provide safe transportation between school and home for eligible riders and all students in support of a range of extracurricular activities. Drivers receive annual training to ensure they are fully qualified and up-to-date on the latest rules, regulations and safety standards.  Cumulatively 1.8 million student riders are transported over 2.7 million miles annually.
