Election Day-inspired lessons in democracy
Days, times and locations listed below.

● Oct 30 (Tues) – 2:45 p.m. at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, 2123 W. Huisache Ave.  A mock debate between students portraying President Barack Obama and his Republican challenger Mitt Romney will be sponsored by the junior class at this all-girls school. The role of moderator also will be played by a student. This all-school event will be held in the auditorium.

● Nov. 1 (Thurs) – 7:30 to 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at J.T. Brackenridge Elementary School, 1214 Guadalupe St.  To add an air of authenticity to the school’s mock election, staff portraying the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates and Uncle Sam will greet students and parents during morning drop off as patriotic music is played.  Polls will open at 8:30 a.m.
