May 21 (Thurs) — ‘Celebrate America’ naturalization ceremony
2 p.m. at Trinity University’s Laurie Auditorium, 1 Trinity Place
Fifth-graders from SAISD’s Cotton Elementary will read their winning essays on the topic “Why I Am Glad America is a Nation of Immigrants.” By placing first, second and third, the Cotton students swept the contest in the public school category. The first place winner will receive $100 and a miniature of the Statue of Liberty.
