May 22 (Fri) — Championship celebration for Sam Houston’s 2005 men’s basketball team
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alamo Convocation Center, 110 Tuleta St. next to Alamo Stadium
Former coach Wayne Dickey and members of this Hurricane squad have been invited to festivities honoring their status as state champs. The University Interscholastic League bestowed the title upon the 2005 team after forfeiting South Oak Cliff High School, Sam Houston’s rival in that year’s class 4A state championship game.
