In 6th grade, we are studying representing data using different types of graphs and analyzing that data to determine the mean, median, mode and range. We will also continue our examination of measurement of lengths, time, and angles, including angle sums of triangles and quadrilaterals. We will finish up with circumference of a circle and perimeter, area and volume of various shapes. All class notes will be maintained in student binders using Cornell Notes. |
| Student's homework may consist of any of the following: vocabulary study, uncompleted classwork, basic skills review, or assigned problems from the current math workbook. |
| Students are quizzed on concepts we've covered in class as well as basic skills mastery. Students will have a district interim at the end of each nine weeks and will also be spending time preparing for the upcoming TAKS math exam. |

| The classroom should be a comfortable environment where the students acknowledge and accept each other's differences. My duties as their teacher are to instill the children with a sense of responsibility, emphasize that questioning is an effective learning tool, and provide them with the resources to succeed. Most importantly, I want my students to understand the significance of being educated. |
