This nine weeks in my class...

*Math -(7& 8th)Students will be studying similar figures, percents, geometric figures and surface area.
* English - (7 & 8) We are currently finishing up the novel "Manic Magee" by Jerry Spinelli. Students are reading two chapters on T and Th. M,W and F students are composing essays, editing and revising.
* Reading - (7 & 8)ISM program and Detective Reading passages
* So. Studies - (6th) African Cultures and Empires, .(7th)-The Mexican War identify individuals and events. (8th)- New government- identify the major eras in US history through 1877 and describe their defining characteristics.
* Science- (6th) The Solar System, Cells and the Cell Theory.(7th)Moon Phases, Planets and Stars, Human Body and Homeostasis(8th) Stars, Human System, Genetic combinations and inherited characteristics.
This Nine Weeks' Homework:
Math Homework sheets are in students AVID binder and are due at the end of each week. Reading is highly recommended for 15 minutes everyday. Students Behavior Log will be sent home on biweekly basis- this will require a parent signature.
