2nd Annual Ag in the City At their annual Ag in the City event, Burbank High School students (l-r) Eduardo Angel and Nathan Ipina demonstrate the shearing of a lamb and answer the many questions of Woodlawn Hills Elementary students. The fourth-graders visited 24 learning stations taught by students of Burbanks' agriculture program.
Burbank High School student Darian Cervantes teaches Bowden Elementary fourth-graders how to plant a radish seed – noting that in 22 days they'll have a radish ready for a holiday salad. The hands-on learning experiences supplement what students learn in science class, and open the door to future agriculture interests.
Fourth grade students from Nelson Elementary are treated to a lesson in flower arrangements by Burbank High School sophomore Angelica Cabellero. At the Ag in the City event, 700 fourth-graders from 10 schools visited learning stations taught by students of Burbanks’ agriculture program.
