Edison Bears Varsity Basketball Team Makes History

Bears Basketball Team advances to 3^rd round of playoffs

EHS Bears basketball team took a road trip to Kingsville, TX on Feb. 25, where they met up with the Roma Gladiators for the 2^nd round area playoff game. The Bears opened up with several unanswered baskets and went into halftime with a 33-9 lead. Coach Vela’s team showed that their hard work in practice paid off as they kept the lead around 20 points throughout most of the game. The Bears showed a great team effort and defeated Roma 58-49 to advance to the 3^rd round. DJ Casias #23 lead the Bears in scoring (17 points), followed by Marco Guerrero #21 (15 points) and Michael Espina #50 (12 points). Thanks to all the parents and fans for making the long trip to support their team. Next game is on Wednesday, March 2^nd 7:30 pm @Floresville vs. Victoria East.
