Parent Principal Coffee
Principal Coffee's are held on the first Friday of each month for School Year 2012-2013. Please join us for a great opportunity to learn what is happening at the school and district with Principal Pollock and meet other parents. The next date is February 1, 2013.
 
Food Distributions
San Antonio Food Bank distributions are one Wednesday a month. The next one is March 27, 2013 from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM. We want all our Hawthorne families to join us for this event. Magnet School Recruitment
September/October
High schools will visit our eighth grade students to showcase their magnet programs.  Applications will be distributed to all eighth grade students the last week of September.  The deadline to apply is November 16, 2012 

Girls on the Run Bexar CountyTraining sessions have begun!
Third-Fifth grade meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 6th-8th grade meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Science Fair
Judging will be held Friday, February 1st in the morning in the library. Parents are welcome to come view the projects.  Holiday Concerts and TheaterThe Nutcracker will be performed on Wednesday, December 19th. The Shakespearean plays will be performed on Friday, December 21st.  

Spelling Bee
Grade Level spelling bees to be held Tuesday, November 27th in the gym during PE time. Winners will advance to the schoolwide Spelling Bee to be held in the auditorium on the morning of January 15, 2013

April 25th 8th Social Studies 

May 7th 8th Algebra End of Course Exam

 

UIL Competition

Students in grades 2-8 are encouraged to participate in academic competitions held in April and May. Practices are held on Mondays and Tuesdays until 4:15. Contact Mrs. Cavazos for more information.
