Red Ribbon Week 2015
Highland Hills staff and students pledge to be drug free and participated in the annual Drug Free Parade dressed as story book characters.
First Day of School 2015
Highland Hills students were given a graduation cap on their first day of school. Students walked to class to the tune of Pomp and Circumstance.
Bike Rodeo 2015
The Highland Hills students grades Kindergarten to 5th grade participated in the annual Bike Rodeo. Students were tested on their biking skills. All students were awarded a participation certificate. Trophies were awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each grade level. Top winners will represent Highland Hills Elementary in the City Wide Bike Rodeo.
Pink Day 2015
Highland Hills students and staff dressed in pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Ole History In Motion RV 2015
Fourth Grade classes took a tour on the Ole's History In Motion RV sponsored by Express News. The students were actively engaged in hands on activities about Texas History. Thank you to the Express News and local sponsors for sponsoring this fun learning experience.
Inspire Award 2015
Highland Hills Elementary's music teacher, Jason Jones was awarded the 2015 Inspire Award Innovation Honoree. Congratulations Mr. Jones!!!
Silver Stars Visit 2015
Silver Stars basketball players came to visit Highland Hills Elementary students. The Silver Stars players motivated students with a talk about working hard in school and doing their best everyday. Students welcomed the Silver Stars players wearing silver and black and presented them with silver stars!
HHE Dia De Los Muertos Altars 2015
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and Dia De Los Muertos, Highland Hills Elementary Bilingual students decorated altars in memory of loved ones and displayed the altars at the Historic Market Square Downtown and at Highland Hills Elementary School. The altars will be on display through November 2, 2015.
Game Box Attendance Incentive 2015
Highland Hills students who met the 30 Day Perfect Attendance Challenge for the month of October, enjoyed playing video games on the Game Box Game Trailer.
Science Fair 2015
Highland Hills students participated in the the school wide Science Fair. Judges from SAISD Instructional Technology Department came to judge science projects. All students were recognized with participation ribbons. A gallery walk and Awards Ceremony was held in the evening for families to come and view projects and watch students receive awards.
