The Counseling Department at Hillcrest Elementary School provides a variety of services to assist all students in being successful individuals both socially and academically.
The counseling department conducts guidance classes with all students throughout the year. Topics covered through guidance may include: making good choices, responsibility, goal setting, trust, respect, kindness, honesty, sharing/cooperation, equality/acceptance, bullying, harassment, drug awareness and career awareness. The counseling department also provides individual and small group counseling to students who have emotional or academic needs.
Hillcrest Elementary School has an active School-Wide Character Education Program. This program teaches and reinforces good character traits and provides a positive atmosphere for learning. Hillcrest also has a comprehensive Bully Prevention Plan. Our staff takes every effort to ensure that your child has a positive school experience.
We assist parents with referrals to community services, medical services and/or counseling/therapy services.
