Hillcrest Tigers in Action

Throughout the year, the staff at Hillcrest promotes education through a partnership between home and school by hosting variour events.  Here are a few of the many activities that make Hillcrest a great place to be!!

Hillcrest participated in this year's UIL competition held at Edison

 High School. 

First Place – Ready Writing – Sandra Mata – Harrington – 4th grade

Second Place – Creative Writing – Victoria Galvan – Love – 2nd grade

Third Place – Music Memory – Julian Gonzales, IV – Garcia – 3rd grade

Third Place – Social Studies – Isreal De Leon –  Calejo – 5th grade

Fifth Place – Julie Torres – Oral Reading English – Harrington – 4th grade

Sixth Place – Carlos Vara – Number Sense – Galvan – 4th Grade







Author, Teresa Ives Lilly, visited Hillcrest

and read her book I don't want to be a Pirate.





Second Grade were surprised by Mrs. Grimes, Mrs. Love,

Mr. Renshaw, Ms. Osio and Ms. Nikolas with a copy of the book

Freckle Juice!




Three Hillcrest students along with

Mrs. Flores-Lopez, Mrs. Quintero, and Ms. Harrington

attended the Young Authors Presentation.  Their essay

about how Hillcrest received its name was celebrated.



Hillcrest Night at the Missions.  The choir did a great job

of singing the National Anthem.




El Rey Feo and his Court paid a fun filled visit to Hillcrest!!




The Lego Club on a field trip!



Hillcrest was represented by some

energetic Tigers at the SAISD Run/Walk event.





Mrs. Calejo was very adventurous and entered our school into a Dumpster Design Contest that was to be conducted at the Pie to the People at La Villata.  The contest was a great experience!  Thank you for the help, Mrs. Ramos.

Veteran's Day Celebration!!



Hillcrest Tigers celebrate literacy and being Drug Free through various activities including: Tailgate Lunches, Pep Rally with T Bone from the Rampage, the Literacy Parade, and Read Around the School.
