Sam Houston HS is home to the Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology magnet program – the MET. This highly interactive program gives students hands-on experience with industry - standard hardware and software technology tools, and the opportunity to earn up to 31 hours of college credit, at no cost to the student or parent! In fact, Sam Houston is the only high school in San Antonio that offers a dual-credit manufacturing program on campus. The program is open to any qualifying student in Bexar County and the surrounding area. MET students also may qualify for thousands of dollars in college scholarships, receive industry certifications, and get paid summer internships valued at $2,800 or more, all while still in high school. Boeing and AT&T are just a few of the major companies that have developed partnerships with Sam Houston’s MET program.
