Dear Thomas Jefferson High School Community:

The 2008 – 2009 school year is off to a great start and we are very excited about what this year has to offer.  There are many opportunities to continue the past successes and traditions of Thomas Jefferson High School.  We look forward to working with the entire community to make this possible.

We strive to provide the best learning environment possible.  Please be aware that SAISD dress code and cell phone policy are being enforced.  According to SAISD Board Policy the district permits students to possess cell phones, however, all cell phones must remain turned off during school hours.  This includes passing periods and lunch.

Please remember that policies such as these are in place to ensure an environment that is safe, orderly, and free of disruptions.  It is our goal to continue the proud tradition as we work to move TJHS toward future successes.  I also want to encourage the continued involvement of the entire Jefferson community and work with parents, alumni, and community members.  Please check our calendar for upcoming activities and events.  If we can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact the school at 736-1981.

Sincerely,

Samuel F. Hogue

Principal
