Dear Jefferson High School Community:

It is my honor and privilege to begin serving as principal of Thomas Jefferson High School.  I am both humbled and excited to be joining a school community with such a rich history and tradition of excellence.  It is my goal to continue this proud tradition as we work to move Jefferson High School toward future successes.  With summer break right around the corner, the month of May is a very busy time as we prepare to close out a successful school year as well as plan and prepare for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year.   It is important that we maintain our focus and work hard for a strong finish.

I am a firm believer in the old adage that “it takes a village to raise a child.”  Although our students are in high school, they continue to need our support and guidance to help them to be successful and pursue their dreams.  I have already had the privilege to meet with many parents as well as various organizations that are affiliated with the rich history of TJHS.  I want to encourage the continued involvement of the entire Jefferson community and work with parents, alumni and community members.  If we can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact the school at 736-1981.

Sincerely,

Samuel F. Hogue

Principal
