Meet author Ignacio Garcia, PhD., author of When Mexicans Could Play Ball : Basketball, Race, and Identity in San Antonio, 1928-1945. Mr. Garcia is a native of San Antonio, now teaching at

Brigham Young University in Utah. He is the Lemuel Hardison, Jr. Professor of Western & Latino History. Sr. Garcia will talk about growing up on the westside and using the Bazan branch library,

graduating from Lanier HS in 1969, and his growing fascination with the basketball victories at Lanier during the years of 1928 to 1945. Come and enjoy this time with Ignacio Garcia, author and

San Antonio native!!

SkillsUSA Officers and Police Explorers helped the school counselors by presenting their "Making a Difference" anti-bully presentation to Lanier students.

Great Day SA--Starring the Lanier VOKS!

The Lanier Voks Varsity Basketball team will be representing Lanier High School by appearing on the KENS-5 morning show “Great Day SA” on Friday, January 24 (approx. 9:30 am). Make sure sure you record this appearance!

 

9th Grade GEAR UP Parent Information Session

At Café College this Thursday Jan. 23 from 5:30-7:00PM.

The focus will be on Study and Organizational Skills. Parents will get information on the academic skills their child needs to be successful in school. They will also get informed on strategies for note taking, reading, and test taking.
