Ms. Grace Roy, Counselor
Dear Madison Dragons,
I am proud to be starting my 10th year as the counselor at James Madison Elementary.
I graduated from Highlands High School, pride of the southeast side! I received my Bachelor’s from Southwest Texas State and my Master’s from Texas A & M Kingsville.
You are always invited to come by and review guidance materials.
If your child needs supplies, tutoring or a backpack, please contact me.
I have information about various community resources.
Do you have a 2-3 year old at home that may need assistance?
Would you like to attend parent informational meetings?
Would you like to work in your child’s classroom?
Are you crafty and would like to put up bulletin boards?
Do you have a free hour or tow and would like to read or mentor a student?
Can you spend the day with your child’s class as a chaperone?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, please contact me to complete the CHRI (Criminal History Records Information) background check and attend a volunteer/chaperone orientation.
Guidance ReviewSince the start of school we have covered many topics during classroom guidance. Those topics include bullies, safe touch, diversity/appreciating differences, self-esteem, tolerance, friendship, feelings, test taking/study skills and anger management. I will also provided lessons on college readiness, career awareness, social skills and transition.
If you and your family are in need of outside resources, please contact me. I can provide you with a listing (non exhaustive) of counseling agencies, as well as an application for San Antonio Food Bank. I also have pamphlets and information from a number of other community agencies that can provide resources.
