Margil Elementary
"The Shining Star of the Westside!"
Margil Elementary has received numerous accolades and affirmation from various entities. The school was designated by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as Exemplary in 2002 and 2009. The school achieved the level of Recognized in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010. Margil was also featured in SAISD Parade of Schools during Texas Public Schools Week 2004. In 2001, Texas Monthly Magazine ranked this campus in the top 20 percent of its school category in the state.
