Frequently Asked Questions…
What grades does The Charter serve? Grades 6, 7, and 8.
What if my student applied to the charter and did not get accepted? Your student still has the opportunity to attend Rhodes by filling out the district charter application and writing Rhodes Middle School, A Technology & Media Internal Charter School as your school choice in the application.
How are Charter Students selected? Students are admitted into The Charter through a lottery system into open spots based on building population limitations.
What is the difference between a charter student and a magnet student? Charter students want to come to Rhodes because they want to use and be taught with technology in their core classes (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies). Magnet students want to come to Rhodes to take the Technology electives, as well as, use and be taught with technology in their core classes.
Will my student be able to take Technology electives? As with the application process, students will be placed in “open spots” in the technology electives. However, students need to take Technology Applications first to be eligible for advanced technology elective classes. And remember, all students will be utilizing technology in their core classes too!
