During the week of Feb. 24-28th we will be
administering the STAAR simulation tests in grades 3-5.
This is a great opportunity for the students to practice
the routines and procedures for the actual test days in April.
These are 4 hour timed tests. Please be sure your
student is here on time and stays all day.
Join us at our PTA meetings
the 2nd Tuesday of each month!
See you there!

|Mary Broach 1st Grade-room 104|
My name is Mary Broach and I look forward to teaching your child this year!
A little bit about myself. This is my 22nd year of teaching and my 5th year at Kate
Schenck. I am so happy to be at Kate Schenck, my alma mater!
The road back to my elementary school was interesting. I graduated from Highland
High and SWTSU-nowTexas State. I earned a degree in Fine Arts but I went back
and got certified to teach in 1991. I began teaching in Dilley, Texas. I taught
kindergarten for 6 years in Dilley but I missed my hometown so I applied at SAISD.
There, I taught kinder at Highland Hills for 12 years. An opportunity to transfer to
Schenk came up and here I am right where I began my academic career!
When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, movies and my 5 dogs...and pinterest!
