Mrs. Serros, Counselor PDF Print

My name is Mrs. Serros and I am the Guidance Counselor at Woodlawn Hills Elementary.

First and foremost, it is my responsibility to help your child get the best possible education.  A good education includes not only learning to read, write and do math but it also includes learning good social skills. Counselors work with students to help them:

  • Learn to get along with other children
  • Make good decisions
  • Manage their anger
  • Accept responsibility
  • Identify their strengths and weaknesses

Many of these skills are taught at home and it is my intent to supplement the learning from home through classroom guidance activities.

It is important to remember that when school personnel and parents work together, it is a winning combination for children.  One of my major functions is to help parents who have a particular concern about their child.  I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss any matter regarding your child's emotional or academic well being.

My primary role is to help students who are facing particular difficulties, such as family disruptions, illness, death, or divorce that may affect them at school.  If I am aware of any special problems, I can speak with your child and provide coping skills to help them with any difficulties they may be facing.  If your family is experiencing anything out of the ordinary, please notify me so I can facilitate and help in any way.  All children deserve to be winners, and together, we can make this goal a reality and help them succeed in life.

If I can be of any help to you please call (210.432.6151) Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 - 3:30, or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  If I am not available, I will return your call or email as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Serros
