Leadership

Responsible leadership is a core value for our school and we instill leadership qualities in all of our young women by encouraging active participation in extra-curricular activities and service learning opportunities such as:

  • Honor Society
  • Student Council
  • Spanish Club
  • Girl Scouts
  • Athletics
  • UIL
  • Summer Enrichment
  • Technology Club

Girls are highly encouraged to not only participate; but, to create their own clubs and service learning opportunities.  The goal is to ensure that our programs are student led and generated. Leadership is infused in the PREP class and developed through summer enrichment programs developed by our students.

  • Jr. Master Gardeners
    • This team will learn horticulture and participate in campus grounds development.
  • Green Living
    • Recycling, environmental awareness and community outreach.
  • Community Service
    • This team will develop a needs assessment and create a community service project that they feel would best meet the community needs.
  • Interior Design Team
    • This team will be responsible for the interior upgrades of the campus from choosing paint, curtains, wall art and displays.  They will learn about formal design and architectural detail.

The girls will meet with their teams weekly, elect officers, and operate their club budgets and planning.  They will be responsible for conducting leadership meetings and presenting the efforts and work of their clubs.  Each club has service learning requirements and the girls will begin to develop their 4-H Record Book to record their goals, service and notes.  4-H also offers a variety of contests and scholarships that our girls will be eligible for; they will have opportunities for leadership at the campus, county, state and national level.  A parent component will operate simultaneously to support the student learning.
