The law impacts our lives in numerous ways. This profession offers a variety of law careers in specialized areas including: entertainment, environmental, family, criminal, intellectual property, patent, international and more.
Students following this career path may become a lawyer, paralegal or judge. The skills developed for the practice of law also will prepare you for many different careers, from business to mediation to public service, and other careers that involve comprehending complex problems and finding solutions. The Law Professions Institute at Fox Tech High School offers an advanced and rigorous curriculum in all core subjects with a focus on courses that build students’ strengths in areas critical to the field of law, including research, investigation, analysis and communication. This Institute leads to an
endorsement in Public Service. An endorsement is a targeted area of interest, and there are five
different areas set by the state.
Students are offered a number of Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses, with career courses
closely aligned to the related programs at San Antonio College. Advanced Placement courses are
available to prepare students for rigorous college coursework offered through the dual-credit courses.
All Institute students are required to participate in UIL, student leadership and service projects while in
