QUICK LINKS

2019-20 TRANSFER WINDOW OPEN NOW THROUGH JUNE 26, 2019

Transfer requests must be submitted through the family's SchoolMint account. Step-by-step instructions are listed on the SchoolMint login page. Families may request a transfer for any of the following reasons during the transfer window (April 1 – June 26, 2019):

  • Keep siblings together at the same school
  • Allow a student to attend a traditional middle school instead of an academy
  • Participate in specific programming at another school
  • Allow an SAISD employee's child to attend a district school
  • Allow a student to remain at the same school after moving out of the attendance zone
  • Fulfill a court order
  • Attending a school that TEA specifies as qualifying for the Public Education Grant
The Transfer Process is the same for all families regardless of where they live. The transfer request form  will ask the family to identify if they live in district or out of district. Students just moving into the district will have 5 business days after enrolling to request a transfer.

The following student school changes do not occur through the Transfer Process:

  • Choice Schools and Programs enrollment process
  • English Language Learners attending their bilingual hub campus
  • Students at enrollment-capped grades attending their pod campus
  • McKinney-Vento placement

Families may request a crisis transfer at any time during the school year. Contact the Office of Access and Enrollment Services at (210) 554-2660 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with any questions.

CURRENT SAISD STUDENTS

Students currently enrolled at an SAISD school may request a transfer to another SAISD school. A Transfer Application must be completed by parents/guardians who request a student transfer from their residential attendance zone school to another school within the San Antonio Independent School District.

Students who are interested in attending a Choice School or Magnet program (see list here) must apply to that school or program through the district’s Choice Application and Selection Process. Students may not request a transfer into a Choice School or Magnet Program.
