Emilio Castro, Deputy Superintendent for Administration & Leadership Development, oversees and provides leadership for instructional programs and the operation of all learning and teaching activities. The 19-year educator has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, area superintendent, superintendent and leadership consultant.
Most recently, Castro led professional learning and leadership development at Lewisville ISD. Previously, he spent 13 years with Dallas ISD and 2 1/2 years with Kingsville ISD as superintendent. Mr. Castro has a master’s of education in educational administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas.
Matt Weber, Deputy Superintendent for Instruction, oversees and provides leadership for instructional programs and all learning and teaching activities. During his education career, he has served as a teacher, director, program evaluator, assistant principal, and principal.
Most recently, Dr. Weber worked for four years as Associate Superintendent for Instructional Services at McAllen ISD. During that tenure, McAllen ISD made significant gains in elementary school STAAR results and innovative transformation in utilization of technology. Dr. Weber has a master’s degree from the University of Rochester in New York and a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in Denton.
