Construction Services Department supports SAISD’s mission in the areas of facility planning, construction project management, facility Information, real estate, and leasing services.
Long range facility plans involves the evaluation of facilities educational adequacy and deferred capital needs. These assessments support decision making for funding major bond programs. Annual campus plans support District and Campus initiatives by providing utilization and capacity analyses, boundary modification options, and facility deficiency studies associated with specific new programs.
Construction projects managed through this office include Bond funded programs; District funded initiatives for new programs and Campuses; Funded deferred capital improvements such as central plant upgrades, roofing, contracted painting, etc.; and other funded enhancement such as security, signage, marker board replacement, etc. Construction Staff also coordinate various community funded projects such as school parks, Kingdom for Kids, construction of monuments, etc.
Facility Information Services maintain drawings of all SAISD facilities and sites. Drawings of plans, elevations, sections, infrastructural systems are updated as needed to reflect existing conditions. Limited Geographic Information Systems and design services are provided.
The department is responsible for all real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposition, and trade of real property. Associated services include due diligence, legal services coordination, Unified Development Code Compliance, and relocation planning and contracting.
Leasing Services involves the management of community use of district facilities in accordance with Policies GKD-Legal, GKD-Local, and Administrative Procedures G1. We encourage schools and departments to consult with Construction Services related to community requests to use district facilities.
