SAISD Taking Applications for 2020 Blue Ribbon Task Force
San Antonio ISD is currently accepting applications from interested individuals who would like to serve on the District’s 2020 Blue Ribbon Task Force.
Creation of the task force was approved by the SAISD Board of Trustees on January 21, 2020, to inform and advise Trustees in matters relating to a potential Bond referendum on Nov. 3, 2020.
The 24-member task force will provide feedback on SAISD’s facilities and educational needs assessments, provide input on priority projects, engage community input, and present a long-range plan recommendation to Trustees.
Applications are due by February 18, 2020, and are available online at www.saisd.net or at the Superintendent’s office at 141 Lavaca, 78210.
Completed applications may be emailed to dnunez1@saisd.net or mailed or delivered to the Superintendent’s office.
The task force will be composed of 24 members: 21 SAISD residents and three at-large representatives of business and community organizations. Trustees each will nominate three members. The three at-large representatives will be nominated by the Superintendent.
Members will serve for a busy six-month period from the end of February to the beginning of August. During that time, the committee will meet approximately seven times to review and visit proposed projects, solicit feedback from the community, provide input to staff and make a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
