UPDATE: Effective Monday, Sept. 21, all children in the community are able to participate in the SAISD Child Nutrition program.  There have been approved waivers from USDA and TDA allowing Child Nutrition to serve ALL children 18 years of age and younger during our curbside and bus route distributions.

Also eligible for the meal program are students enrolled in a school of high school grade and under as determined by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), including students past the age of 18 but under the age of 21 who continue to be enrolled at the school and are identified as mentally or physically disabled through a special education program or the 29 U.S.C § 70, Section 504, Rehabilitation Act of 1973. If this is the case, the student is eligible through age 21.

This is the same program followed during the summer months. 

We will be providing the following meals free of charge at Curbside and on the Bus Routes:
1. Breakfast
2. Lunch
3. Snack 
4. Supper – NEW AS OF MONDAY, SEPT. 21 
 
Curbside meal service will remain on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the campuses. The bus routes will also remain on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday providing meals throughout the SAISD community. (Students attending in person instruction will have the opportunity to participate in the meal offerings while on campus.)

Beginning Aug. 17, SAISD will have student meal pickup at all campuses.*

While students are in a virtual-learning environment, school meals will be made available using the curbside serving method as well as at various bus stop locations throughout the District. Some campuses will be served from an SAISD bus stop on or near the campus, and students will be able to pick up meals from any SAISD location convenient to them. Click the two links above for all curbside locations or a form in which you enter your address to determine the closest bus stop locations.

Distribution schedule: 
• Meals will be distributed at both our curbside and bus stop locations on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 
• Curbside meal distribution will take place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
• Bus stop delivery times will vary as noted on the listing.

Meal Bundles (1 bundle per student) will include:
• Monday: 2 breakfast meals, 2 lunch meals, 2 snacks (Tuesday meals included)
• Wednesday: 2 breakfast meals, 2 lunch meals, 2 snacks (Thursday meals included)
• Friday: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, 1 snack

Pick-up procedures:
• With the start of the school year, meals are only provided for students enrolled in SAISD.
• Meals may be picked up from any district campus or identified bus stop (1 bundle per student).
• Parents may pick up meals without the student present but must present one of the following items: student ID number, student ID card, or an official letter/email from the school listing the child enrolled at an SAISD campus.
• Note: The Texas Department of Agriculture does not allow receiving the same meal at both daycare and school on the same day for the same child.
