Feb. 1, 2021 - Inspired by the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Bonham Academy and Broadway Bank partnered to create the “I Have a Dream” Art Contest. Participating students created artwork with the themes of Helping Others, Justice or Peace, and placed their artwork within a virtual gallery for viewing. Judges will announce winners in three grade categories: Kinder – 2nd, 3rd – 5th, and 6th – 8th. Each winner will receive a gift basket of art supplies valued at $50. The grand prize winner will also receive a $50 gift card in addition to the gift basket.

WHAT: Virtual event to announce winning students in the “I Have a Dream” Art Contest.  

WHY: In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the civic leader’s legacy, students were encouraged to express the themes of Helping Others, Justice and Peace through art.

WHO:  Bonham Academy, contest participants, and judges from Broadway Bank, Steve Spriester from KSAT-12, Tanya Lopez from Univision, Nicholas Frank from the San Antonio Report, Lisa Lynde from the King William Association, and neighborhood artist Regina Moya.
