27 Burbank and Jefferson High School Class of 2021 graduates have been awarded the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diplomas 
The IB Diploma is one of the most sought-after attributes of a high school graduate participating in an International Baccalaureate programme. SAISD is home to the city’s only school district offering IB at all grade levels to earn an IB education.

Aug. 19 (Thurs) – SAISD Foundation surprises teachers with grants

To kick off the school year on an energetic note, the SAISD Foundation will begin announcing winners of its innovative grant process, beginning with a couple of CTE teachers at Lanier high school. Teachers will continue to be surprised with grant awards over the next few weeks.
 
Aug. 19 (Thurs) – City’s oldest annual ice cream social

(This outdoor activity is open to media)
Jefferson High School will hold its annual ice cream social and annual review. Student groups and athletes will present the traditional Pass and Summer Review parade, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Alumni also will be recognized. This yearly event is billed as the city’s oldest ice cream social.
