    Apply online. Once application is submitted, a case worker will be in contact to assess if an individual qualifies for assistance. 


    City of San Antonio - Fair Housing Program

    Provides individuals and families rent, mortgage, utility and internet access assistance in the event of a hardship. Funds are paid directly to the landlord, financial institution, internet provider and utility provider. In addition, funds for groceries, medicine and fuel, in the form of cash assistance, will be distributed directly to individuals or families in an amount not to exceed $300.


    To apply for assistance, San Antonio residents must:

    • be the primary lease or mortgage holder in a multifamily unit, mobile home, or single-family home within the city limits of San Antonio.
    • provide proof of financial hardship that renders the household unable to pay rent, mortgage or utilities.
    • have an income at or below 100% of the Area Median Income. Under these Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines, a San Antonio family earning $72,000 a year or below would qualify for the program.

    Guardian House

    Mind Your Self Counseling

    Reflection International Ministries
    Ramon Chapa is offering faith based counseling to families and individuals feeling overwhelmed or coping with the COVID-19 crisis. Email to schedule a free session.

    Sigma Mental Health Urgent Care
    Sigma Mental Health Urgent Care can help students with their psychiatric needs immediately using their secure telemedicine services.  They have same day appointments available and are open 7 days a week.

    Texas Health and Human Service 24/7 Mental Health Support Line
    Offers trauma-informed support and psychological first aid to those experiencing stress and anxiety related to COVID-19. Counselor services are confidential and free of charge to people who call the hotline.

    Cornerstone Church
    Sign up online for a Care box or a prepared meal.  These will be given out through a drive through system with minimal interaction for everyone’s safety.  There are no requirements to receive this, but you must have an email address to sign up because they email you a confirmation with pick up information that has to be shown when you drive through.     Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program
    Providing families with children aged 5-18 who received SNAP food benefits for the month of March an additional one time $285 increase directly onto their Lone Star card, effective on May 22.
    Families who have children certified for free or reduced-price meals during the 2019-20 school year, but did not receive SNAP benefits for the month of March, will need to apply.

  • The Adult & Community Education department is offering free ESL and GED, self-paced, online classes.
  • Please contact your student's campus for a list of dates and times in which they will be distributing devices.

    National Digital Inclusion Alliance
    Database of established, nationally available low-cost plans offered by non-profit organizations. All offers are less than $20/month, total cost (with no installation fee).

  • AT&T

    Offering low-cost wireline home Internet service with at least one resident who participates in the SNAP program. In order to qualify, individuals must not have a previous balance with AT&T and their accounts must be in good standings.


    AT&T Center
    Free Wi-Fi will be provided from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day beginning Monday April 20, until further notice, courtesy of Spurs Give, AT&T and Aruba Networks. Lot 3 will have cones in every other parking space to ensure social distancing, and students may search for the “spursgive” network to connect.


    May qualify for Internet Essentials Program if you are eligible for public assistance programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, SSI and others and do not have outstanding debt to Comcast less than a year old, live in an area where Comcast Internet service is available, etc. Apply online for the Internet Essentials Program and possibly receive 2 free months.


    San Antonio Public Libraries
    Offering free wifi service from your vehicle at 28 public library locations everyday from 7:30 A.M. - 10:30 P.M. Please note: the Briscoe and Pruitt locations are not included in this service.




    Families may qualify for 2 months of free Wi-Fi services to households with Pre-K through 12 and/or college students affected by this virus. Customers must not have a previous balance in order to qualify. Contact the Student Remote Learning Internet Offer at 1-855-243-8892. 


    VIA Metropolitan Transit

    Providing mobile, high-speed Wi-Fi service to students at various locations in the city. Equipped VIAtrans vans will provide network service to cars parked within a range of 100 to 200 feet. Visit their website for a fixed daily schedule with locations.
