SAISD’s contracting partner, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, won the Associated Builders and Construction of South Texas’s 2025 Excellence in Construction (EIC) Award for their work on the Highlands High School Athletics bond project! This is the top award in the Institutional ($25 to $100 Million) category at ABC South Texas’s EIC Awards.
The EIC Awards recognize outstanding projects in the commercial and industrial construction industry. Award categories include general contractor and specialty contractor projects, and are evaluated by local owners, architects, and engineers on safety, execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, installation, and other considerations.
Highlands High School received brand new competition and secondary gyms thanks to Bond 2020 funds. These athletic spaces include weight rooms, a training room, mat room and restrooms. To commemorate the completion of the gymnasiums, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held in December 2024. Read more about that ceremony HERE.
