Dear Families and Staff:
The SAISD Board of Trustees discussed the future of Carvajal Elementary School, and its potential closure, at its meeting tonight, but took no action during this meeting. We recognize the difficulty of this decision and its impact on our community and the district. The agenda item will be posted for the January 20 board meeting, at which time the Board will take action on the administration's recommendation to close Carvajal at the end of the current 2025-26 school year.
We want to give you ample time to continue to provide input and to plan to participate in the January 20 meeting - either in person or online. The board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the SAISD Board Room, 514 W. Quincy St., 78212. Online streaming is available at www.saisd.net/page/videos-school-board-meetings. A link to the streamed meeting will appear once the proceeding begins.
