We are proud to have two incredible educators leading Mariachi Orgullo Mexicano, inspiring our students to learn, perform, and share the beauty of Mariachi with the world.
📸 Meet the talented faces behind the music — our dedicated directors who bring passion, skill, and heart to every rehearsal and performance.
Rhonda García is a trailblazing mariachi singer, violinist, and educator originally from McAllen, Texas. The first woman to join Mariachi Los Caporales, she has performed with leading groups and on national stages. A proud advocate for women in mariachi, she has taught for 28 years in SAISD and is now in her 3rd year at Harris Middle School, where she begins her first year as Head Director.
Luis Lozano is a mariachi educator and performer from Tuluá, Colombia. Now based in San Antonio, he plays trumpet with Mariachi Azteca de América and teaches at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. With a background in classical training and studio recording, Luis brings talent, passion, and dedication to both the stage and the classroom.
