We left for spring break with an overall 94% weekly attendance. Please help your child arrive on time 7:30-7:45 breakfast and stay for the full day so they can make the most of their learning.
🎉 Celebrating Our Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to Mrs.Beckmann, our 1st grade dual language teacher, for being named Teacher of the Year! Mrs.Beckmann has been at Hillcrest for 12 years. She is a T.E.A. designated master teacher. She has previously been a dual language lead teacher, mentor teacher, and is currently the grade level chair . We are extremely proud to have her at Hillcrest and represent us at the district for our Teacher of the year✨
We also want to celebrate Ms.Carrillo first grade teacher for being named our Rising Star. She is in her first year as a teacher and has shown tremendous growth for her and her students. She is learning and doing what is best to ensure our students are successful. Congratulations we arre proud of you Ms.Carrillo.

🎒 Stay the Full Day – Every minute of learning matters! Unless students have an appointment, we encourage families to avoid early pickups so students can fully participate in their learning.
We are returning from spring break and have only 15 days until our 3rd-5th grade students take the 📚 Reading STAAR test. As we move into the final months it is imperative that our tigers come to school. This is when the most learning happens and we can see their growth from when they first arrived.
Reminder: Monday, March 16, 2026 is a regular school day and is serving as the makeup day for the Jan. 26 weather cancelation.

Hello Tiger Families! We are in the process of planning our annual Career Day presenters. Career Day will be held Friday, 5/1/26. If you would like to present your career, please email the school counselor, Mrs. Self at sself1@saisd.net.
Our students have a wide variety of interests, so I encourage you to volunteer. Some recent examples of requests from students are chef, barber, cardiologist, detective, artist, veterinarian, paleontologist, electrician, cosmetology, military, builders, and anything with a vehicle to see and explore.

A reminder about TELPAS Testing. We will be testing for 2nd-5th grade EB students on Thursday (2/19) and Friday (2/20). Please make sure your students are at school for testing and that they are well rested. Thank you
