Dear Families,
I want to inform you of an incident that affected our campus today. We were made aware of a situation occurring in our neighborhood, and as a precaution, we briefly placed the school into a secure protocol. Officers from the district responded quickly to ensure our campus was safe, and once the area was cleared, we lifted the secure.
For clarification, a secure is a procedure in which the perimeter of the school is secured by personnel, and this includes bringing students who may be outside, into the building. All students and staff remain safely inside, operating in a normal manner, but no individuals are allowed to enter the building unless designated by the principal.
Student safety is a top priority at SAISD schools, and we want to keep families informed of situations as soon as we are able. We thank you for your support and understanding.

Quiero informarles de un incidente que afectó a nuestro campus hoy. Nos informaron de una situación en nuestro vecindario y, como medida de precaución, pusimos la escuela en un protocolo de seguridad. Los oficiales del distrito respondieron rápidamente para garantizar la seguridad del campus y, una vez despejada la zona, levantamos el protocolo.
Para clarificar, un estado de protección es un procedimiento en el que el perímetro de la escuela es asegurado por el personal, y esto incluye meter a los estudiantes que puedan estar fuera al edificio. Todos los estudiantes y el personal permanecen seguros adentro y operan de modo normal, pero no se permite que las personas entren al edificio a menos que hayan sido designadas por el director.
La seguridad de los estudiantes es máxima prioridad en las escuelas de SAISD y queremos mantener a las familias informadas en cuanto a situaciones tan pronto como se pueda. Les agradecemos su apoyo y comprensión.

5th Grade Parents- Now is a good time to explore options for middle school offerings. Deadlines are attached. If you have questions, please ask Mrs. Self, the counselor.
Today our attendance was 84%. Please come to school to reach our goal of 96%. A few reminders, come dress up for our snowman day tomorrow! We also have our Holiday Concert on Wednesday, December 17th for Pk at 9AM and K-5th at 5pm. Do not forget to bring cash since 5th grade will be selling Nachos and pickles during the concert. See you all tomorrow!
Student Council ornaments will be available after school today during dismissal. You can purchase them either in the courtyard or car pick up line. Thank you for supporting our Tigers!
Don't forget tomorrow is our Hillcrestmas Crafting extravaganza is tomorrow. 3:30-4:30 those are a few of the activities that will be provided. $6 each
