YMLA Alumni Francisco Soriano

This past weekend, Francisco, along with 5 other Angelo State University history majors, presented their research at the regional Phi Alpha Theta conference at Abilene Christian University. Francisco's research, titled "The Great Northern Change", was an examination of how Russia, under Peter the Great, changed its perspective on utilizing the environment during the Great Northern War. This shift of perspective led to the fall of the Swedish Empire and the rise of the Russian Tsardom.

During the fall semester, Francisco was one of two undergraduate history majors invited to join the Santa Angela Review as a student editor during the spring semester. The Santa Angela Review is an online student journal at Angelo State University that seeks to establish a community of intellectual curiosity around historical and geographical research.
