Dear Highlands High School Families,
Thank you to the 522 families who took the time to complete the 2025-26 SAISD Family-School Relationships Survey. With a 43% response rate, your feedback provides us with the essential data needed to strengthen our partnership and support the academic and social success of our students.
Our Successes
We are proud to share that Highlands High School received an 81% Favorable overall campus score. We have seen growth across all measured categories since the last survey, with particularly high marks in the following areas:
Family Engagement and Input (88% Favorable): An increase of 5 points, reflecting our efforts to welcome your involvement and remain responsive to your concerns.
School Climate (87% Favorable): An increase of 5 points, showing strong parent confidence in how our teachers respect students and how our administration supports a diverse learning environment.
School Fit (87% Favorable): An increase of 3 points, indicating that families feel we are successfully preparing students for the next academic year.
Prioritizing School Safety
While our School Safety rating increased by 9 points this year to 53% Favorable, we recognize this remains our most significant area for growth. Your specific feedback highlights that while 89% of you feel students are supported by staff if bullied, there are ongoing concerns regarding drugs and violence. Please know that your voices have been heard, and we are committed to utilizing this data to enhance our campus safety protocols and ensure every student feels secure.
Addressing Barriers to Involvement
We also want to acknowledge the hurdles you face. Approximately 20% of families identified busy schedules and transportation as the primary barriers to school involvement. To better accommodate you, 89% of parents noted that we now offer activities at various times, and we will continue to look for creative ways to make engagement easier for every family.
The Path Forward
The insights from this survey are more than just numbers; they are a roadmap for our campus improvement. We are encouraged by the upward trends in Family Efficacy (86%) and Family Involvement (85%), and we will continue to work tirelessly to earn your trust and partnership.
Thank you for being an active part of the Highlands High School community. Together, we are building a stronger future for our students.
Sincerely,
Campus Administration
