VIA is inviting community members from across San Antonio to help shape the future of how our city moves. Through the Council to Keep SA Moving (CKSAM), residents are coming together to advocate for smarter, more accessible, and more equitable transportation across our growing region.
CKSAM is not a political body or a technical planning committee. Rather, a community voice, a diverse group of people who care about how public transit, mobility, and infrastructure connect San Antonians to jobs, education, healthcare, and opportunity. From working parents to business leaders and retirees, the council reflects the real people who rely on and benefit from a strong transit system.
Each month, CKSAM members gather for engaging and interactive meetings about the great work being done at VIA. These sessions often feature panel discussions, guest speakers, and presentations from transportation experts, community leaders, and regional planners. Members also enjoy networking with others who share a passion for building a more connected city — one where transportation is not a barrier, but a bridge.
As San Antonio continues to grow, so does the need for thoughtful, inclusive mobility solutions. That’s why VIA is now recruiting new members to join CKSAM. This is an opportunity to provide input, share lived experience and help guide how transit serves neighborhoods today and for generations to come.

The food distribution event @ Lanier High School has been rescheduled.
The new date for this event is Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
The location is still at Lanier High School (1514 W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd, 78207).
Families do not have to re-register for the distribution.
Registered families will receive a confirmation email on Friday evening, January 30, 2026, reminding them of the new date.
Link to pre-register for the food distribution will be left open until: Thursday, January 29, 2026.

FAFSA will help determine your eligibility for federal and state financial aid – like grants (free money), scholarships and affordable loans. (Private and two-year institutions may have different deadlines.)
To get started, you’ll need student and parent/guardian StudentAid.Gov accounts (FSA ID). (Plus, have your personal information and income/asset information – like 2024 Federal Income Taxes – on hand.)
Your College Bound Advisor or counselor can walk you (and your family) through the process. Stop by your school’s college hub or start your application at https://studentaid.gov/
