Get ready to celebrate, Margil families! Tomorrow is the big day for our Fiesta Parade, and we can’t wait to see our scholars showing off their spirit. The festivities will take place both inside the building and outside along the courtyard.
To ensure a fun and safe environment for everyone, please take note of the following details:
📍 Where to Watch:
Due to the mud and rain, we have designated several areas for parents and guests to enjoy the parade with minimal mud and puddles.
The Cafeteria
The Gym
The Courtyard
📝 Entry & Sign-In:
All visitors must sign in at the Gym doors to enter the campus. Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure you have plenty of time to get checked in before the music starts!
🎒 Early Dismissal:
If you would like to take your child home after the festivities, you may sign them out directly at their classroom with their teacher after the parade and all students are back in their classrooms. The intercom will be used to play music, so we will not be able to call them to the office.
Let’s make this a vibrant and memorable day for our students and our community. We look forward to seeing you all there in your best Fiesta colors!

On August 6, 2026, we will honor the 300th anniversary of Antonio Margil’s passing, and we are excited to celebrate the rich history of our school!
As part of this celebration, we are creating a timeline of Antonio Margil’s life and the history of Margil Elementary.
Did you know that Margil Elementary was once located at 601 N. Las Moras Street? 🏫✨
We are looking for old photos of our school to include in this special display. If you have any pictures you are willing to share, please send them with your child—we will make a copy and return them to you.
Our goal is to have this timeline ready for Meet the Teacher in August, and we would love your help in bringing our school’s story to life!
Let’s come together to celebrate the legacy of the “Shining Star of the West Side” – Margil Elementary School! 🌟
We will also be having our annual Fiesta Float Parade on Thursday, April 23rd at 9:30 am. Flyers will be going home this week!

📣 Weekly Update
Margil Families,
This is a friendly reminder that we will have school on Monday. While Easter is a special time for many, Easter Monday is not a school holiday, and we look forward to seeing all of our students on campus.
As we prepare to support our students who will be taking the STAAR test on Tuesday, we are excited to build a positive and encouraging atmosphere! 🎉 On Monday, we will host a short parade in the hallways to cheer on our testers and show them how much we believe in them. During STAAR testing days, we will be a closed campus.
To make it even more fun, we invite all students to dress up as superheroes 🦸♀️🦸♂️—because our testers truly are our superheroes, and we want them to feel supported and celebrated by their peers!
📌 Don’t forget: Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open! Please be sure to complete your child’s registration as soon as possible to secure their spot for next year.
Thank you for your continued support, and we can’t wait to see our school community come together in encouragement.
