🚗 Mid-Year Drop-Off & Dismissal Reminder 🗺️
As we continue the school year, we want to ensure our routines remain safe, smooth, and respectful for our Hawthorne community:
🌟 Friendly Mid-Year Reminder:
Please help us maintain positive relationships with our neighborhood by not parking in the Tintop Apartments parking lot and by avoiding handicap spaces without proper permits.
For everyone’s safety, please do not cut off other vehicles by turning left into the dismissal loop. Honor the line and follow the designated traffic flow. Your patience and courtesy go a long way!
🚸 Crossing Guard Update:
We have contacted the City of San Antonio regarding our crossing guard. Our previous crossing guard has retired, and at this time, there is no available candidate in the current application pool.

🔹 Morning Drop-Off:
• All students must be dropped off in the back loop on Ashby St. beginning at 7:15 AM. Gates will close at 7:45.
• 🚫 Do NOT drop off students on Josephine St. Only bus riders may enter through those doors from 7:15-7:45.
⏰ The tardy bell rings and instruction begins at 7:45 AM.
🍽️ Breakfast:
• Middle school (6–8): 7:15–7:45 AM in the cafeteria
• PK–5th grade: Served in the classroom
🔹 Dismissal:
• Pre-K: Begins at 2:30 PM in the back loop. The gate opens only for Pre-K families at this time.
• K–8: Begins at 3:00 PM, and the gate will open at that time for parent pick-up.
🚦 Traffic Note:
Please continue to follow all posted directions and staff guidance to help keep everyone safe.
👋 Parents are not permitted inside the building during drop-off without signing in first in the front office.

Yesterday, Officer Rosa and his K-9 partner Blue from the SAISD Police Department came to visit Pre-k. He showed us tricks and taught us about their job. We thank them for taking time to come visit with us!
