Registration

If you have not already registered for the upcoming school year, we can help you get that completed. Please schedule a time with your school office or register online at any time by visiting www.saisd.net/enroll. School Safety

Safety continues to be a top priority and we will follow CDC guidance in our efforts to keep students, staff, and families safe. Click here to view the procedures SAISD will be taking to ensure a safe school start.

Instruction

We are offering a safe, 100% in-person school experience for all student in school year 2021-22. We ended this past school year on a safe, strong note, and began this school year  on a strong note, too - beginning with our Summer Jump Start program and with in person learning this fall.

At this time, we have suspended plans to provide a virtual school option for the upcoming school year. We have no legal authority to provide remote learning unless the state legislature grants it to us. We are keeping a close eye on the special legislative sessions to see if virtual learning might gain some traction, but we have not seen evidence of this yet.

School Uniforms and Dress Code

All students must adhere to the District’s dress code for the 2021-22 school year.

The student dress code policy has been updated for the 2021-22 school year. Click here to view the student dress code by campus.

The new policy expands clothing options for our students in middle and high school grades, and gives lower grade levels the option of wearing jeans. The new guidelines also allow students to wear their natural hairstyles and religious head coverings.

The District has several programs available to assist families with the purchase of uniforms.

  • Currently, SAISD Uniform Services has a uniform closet with the inventory to support approximately 5,000 students in need of a basic school uniform.
  • Additional funding is available to help families purchase uniforms. Parents can submit an application to SAISD Uniform Services to receive uniform vouchers for use with any of the District’s four approved vendors.
  • The District also has support services, including uniform assistance, available to families experiencing homelessness.
  • Uniforms, shoes, and undergarments will be available at the SAISD Back to School Resource Fair on Saturday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall. Call (210) 554-2210 or email familyengagement@saisd.net for information about this event.

For more information about any of these services, please email saisdschoolsocialworkers@saisd.net or call (210) 554-2635.
