The Young Women's Leadership Academy is excited to host the 4th Annual All-Girls Math Competition on October 18, 2025. Check-in will take place from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, with the competition kicking off promptly at 9:30 AM.

Congratulations to our YWLA Cardinals for earning 7 out of 7 distinctions from the Texas Education Agency. 🥳💐🎉 Schools were recognized yesterday evening at the SAISD School Board meeting for their distinctions. Along with Mrs. Alfaro, are the principals from Travis ECHS and CAST Tech—who also received 7 out of 7 distinctions. Congratulations to all the SAISD schools who earned distinctions, when our schools excel, all kids excel!

It was time for an Attendance Incentive drawing! We selected one winner for the grade level with the highest attendance percentage for the week and drew three additional names for any grade level who met our 98% goal! Shout out to our 11th graders who came in claiming the top spot!

Strawbridge, has also provided an online option for viewing school photos through their NEW Code Lookup Tool. Late post but still important!!!! We did two random drawings on Friday for students to celebrate grade levels who achieved the 98% attendance goal! We also did a random drawing for all students who sold at least one box of World's Finest Chocolate! More drawings this week, this is one of Mrs. Alfaro's favorite things to do.

Please join us tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in person in the YWLA teacher's lounge. We will provide light breakfast items and award one parent hour for this meeting.
