NEW TEACHER ACADEMY

WELCOME, BIENVENIDOS, TO SAN ANTONIO ISD!

The San Antonio Independent District is excited to welcome all new teachers.  Whether you are new to the district or the teaching profession, SAISD is committed to supporting you. Each semester we offer a New Teacher Orientation experience. For teachers who are not able to attend the event, links to online learning modules and select recorded sessions are shared.

Mentors explore the mentoring book series by Carol Pelletier Radford (Mentoring In Action;

The First Years Matter). This series provides a monthly set of activities and reflections
mentors and their mentees may use in benefit of a partnership that will support the
development during the first years in the profession.

SAISD Mentors can enroll in the Mentor Canvas Course and access the resources below by going to https://saisd.instructure.com/enroll/YFXJRT

Participants join in some conversation alongside fellow colleagues. These sessions serve as an avenue for sharing, learning, and reflection about the learning environment while
navigating the first years in the profession.

New teachers to the profession and district have opportunities to network with fellow
colleagues while enrolled in the New Teacher Academy Canvas Course, during participation.
