
Yasmin and the other SAC honorees receive special recognition at the commencement ceremony by wearing a cord to signify their status as well as have a special mark on their diplomas. Their names also are inscribed on department plaques at the conclusion of the academic year.
SAC will hold a virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9. Its traditional, in-person ceremony will be held in November.
By participating in a dual credit program with her high school and San Antonio College, Yasmin became the first in her family to attend college. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA while balancing volunteer work, academics, and extracurricular activities in both high school and college.
Yasmin was a member of Gamma Sigma Girls, Girl Up, National Hispanic Honor Society, and the National Honor Society.
She plans to attend Texas Tech University in the fall.
This is the second year in a row that a Travis Early College High School student was named the SAC Distinguished Graduate in Liberal Arts.Lauren Gonzalez earned the recognition in 2019.
