SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 17, 2025) -- World champion surfer, best-selling author, and leadership speaker Shaun Tomson will visit Edison High School in the San Antonio Independent School District to share his signature “Surfer’s Code” message with students.
This special event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica St./78212.
Tomson’s “Surfer’s Code” grew out of his decades in the ocean and as a pioneer of professional surfing. The program is captured in his book Surfer’s Code: 12 Simple Lessons for Riding Through Life, which uses stories from surfing to teach young people about purpose, responsibility, and making better choices every day.
Tomson is recognized globally as a leadership and purpose-driven speaker. He developed the Code Method, a simple framework that helps people connect to their values, write a personal code, and turn hope into action in their lives and communities.
Recently, Tomson brought his program to students and leaders at Harvard University’s Kennedy School, where he led a “Code of Transformation” workshop focused on purpose, resilience, and values-based commitments.
Beyond universities and Fortune 100 companies, Tomson is deeply committed to his work with young people. He has spent many years taking his message into schools, community programs, and prisons around the world, using the Surfer’s Code to help audiences find hope, responsibility, and a sense of possibility.
“I am honored to share the Code with the students at Edison High School and to help them write their own words to live by,” said Tomson.
During the program, Tomson will share his personal journey from surfing giant waves to becoming a mentor and author, then guide students through writing their own 12-line personal codes that they can take home, share with family, and post in their classrooms.
