Nov. 24 - 28 (Mon to Fri) – SAISD closed for Thanksgiving break
All SAISD campuses and offices will be closed between Monday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving break. Normal school and office hours resume on Monday, Dec. 1.
Dec. 2 (Tues) – SAISD “Honoring Our Own” celebration
5 p.m. to 8 p.m., McNay Art Museum, 6000 N. New Braunfels Ave., 78209
Honoring Our Own is an annual SAISD celebration recognizing exceptional employees who exemplify our leadership model—Always Model, Always Grow, Always Achieve. The event brings together district leaders, campus staff, and honorees for an evening of recognition, student performances, and a formal dinner. Students will participate in the event with mariachi performances, a student sketch booth and a student art gallery walk.
Dec. 5 (Fri) – Annual Woodlawn Academy Tamalada
8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., Woodlawn Academy, 1717 W. Magnolia Ave., 78201
The Woodlawn Academy Dual Language department is leading students and families in making tamales. It’s a long-standing tradition at the International Baccalaureate campus that has been taking place for 15 years. It’s a great way to celebrate the culture and holiday traditions of the San Antonio and Woodlawn Academy communities.
